The Skills Practice platform, provided by the University of Oxford, is offered to students on an English course whose textbook is English File. There are two versions of this platform, one for students and one for teachers. When we access it, we will find a varied, exhaustive, fun, interesting, interactive and didactic set of activities. They are divided into the same number of units as the textbook, i.e. 12 units. In each unit, students will find activities designed to improve their comprehension and communication skills. In addition to the basic skills, this platform includes components such as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. In this way, students can improve and reinforce what is covered in each lesson.
The teacher's version of the platform also offers additional tools.These tools can be found in the Resources section, the Sound Bank and the Dictionary. For example, in the resources section, teachers can download various activities such as student book audio, workbook audio, listening videos, tests, teacher notes and photocopiable activities. With all these materials, teachers and students alike have a tool that goes beyond the typical platform, making it a truly functional and practical tool to help students improve and enhance their English language learning.
In addition, the Skills Practice platform, which is designed to help users facilitate and enhance their English language learning, also has monitoring mechanisms that allow students and teachers to know their progress levels. These monitoring mechanisms are useful for teachers, students, and parents because they indicate the rhythm of use and progress of students.
